I live very close and have been several times before. My family went in last night for dinner on Valentines. It was busy and I sent in my adult daughter to put name on list to be seated. No one could even address her for 15 minutes and then was told they were not sure if we could even be seated. I went in and asked as well and finally when I found some one to ask he was not sure of table situation as well. I told him we wasted our time and could have been seated and ordering by now at any place else.
very disappointing, we used to like this place but now will go to another Thai even place closer to our house.

We are regulars at Payathai and we get the same thing everytime: panang curry and mekrob. Unfortunately after our experience tonight we will never be returning. We picked up our food as we normally do and ate it at home. When we got home we realized that the salad that came with the meal did not come with the ginger dressing but a heavy and sweet peanut sauce; the mekrob was drowning in its sauce and not even crunchy; one panang was supposed to be a 3 or medium spicy and instead it was inedible as it was as spicy as it could possibly be; the other panang was supposed to be a 1 or mild spicy and was more of a medium spicy that my girlfriend was not able to handle which is why she normally orders mild spicy; and the flavor of both of our dishes was watered down and not even worth trying to eat.

To reiterate, we get the same thing from this place every time and we know what its supposed to taste like. We were extremely dissapointed. My girlfriend called the restaurant. When they answered, they told us the driver was running late. My girlfriend had to explain to them that she was calling about food we already picked up. She asked to speak to the manager and the woman on the line said she was. My girlfriend explained the issues and the woman told us to bring the food back. My girlfriend explained that we were not going to drive back to return bad food. The woman on the line told her that she needed to speak to a manager.

My girlfriend then spoke to another woman who claimed to be the manager as well. The woman told us we needed to bring the food back. My girlfriend explained again that we were not going to drive all the way back to return bad food, and we wanted our money back. The woman put her on hold and when she came back, she offered us a partial refund on our $40 bill. My girlfriend said that was unacceptable and wanted to speak to the owner. The woman refused to give my girlfriend the name, phone number, or time the owner would be at the restaurant. The woman then hung up on my girlfriend.

We are saddened by this experience with our favorite Thai restaurant. We can only hope the owner would be appalled if s/he knew... If we could ever get a hold of him/her.

This is a nice looking place, they're a little hard to see as you drive by. We had to ask for everything twice. The portions were large, which might have been nice if it had had any taste.

They do supply you with real chopsticks, as opposed to wooden ones. Ones that can be washed and reused, like any other utensil. I can certainly say that in their favor.

Just finished having lunch here for the first time and it is amazing! We ordered California roll, teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and pad thai and it was all phenomenal! The thai tea is awesome too! I will definitely be returning!
